You should know your drum rudiments. At least the basic ones.

I voted for doubles but really it's hard to pick a favorite. Doubles mixed into your playing just opens up so much variety. I've always said, if you can play singles and doubles well, you can play anything.

Four stroke roll is my favourite. Second would be the Flam. Possibly because I'm most familiar with them, as I'm always doing fills that involves them.

I went for a combination, I love them all but do lean towards paradiddles, ratamacues and single/double, and triple stroke and flamacues
I play, Gretsch Catalina Birch, 7 piece in the vintage sunburst finish.

RIP, Frank. You will not be forgotten. Missing you, mate

I voted for Paradiddles, including single, double, and triple. I also like the combinations like Flam triplet, dragadiddle, and drag taps. They just sound cool!

I use triplets a lot, with a flam at the first or the end stroke, keeps me concentrated.
Currently electronics, with some "real" cymbals and a few accesories.
