I just came across a smoking good deal on a new Mars series fusion sizes with a 16x20, 7x10, 8x12, 12x14 floor and a 6.5x14 matching birch snare. Also includes the free 7x8 rack tom. $430!?!?!?!?!?!? I played a new gen Mars kit in the crossover 1 up. 2 down configuration and it sounded amazing!! This would be a GREAT recording kit. Got my commission check from work.. Might just....nawww...well....?

All Birch not a bad price for brand new, if you can look past the color I would do it. I would love to have a birch kit someday

Color isn't bad. Actually if I was in the market for this set, I would opt for this finish.

That's the kit config I tested. Crazy good sounding drum set! I would say go for it! I doubt you'll be disappointed.

Really loving all the great kits posted here! I hope to become a Mapex owner soon!! Just wondering if anyone has played on the Black Panther Wraith snare and what their thoughts were on the dryness of the drum? I really like the sounds I'm hearing on you tube but can't find one at my local GC or any other music store in my area. Thanks!

It looks great to me, but I like understated. Different people/different tastes I suppose (that's probably why gold hardware exists)

I shared my kit on a gig last night: snare, cymbals, and all. It was the first time I had ever heard it from out front. I was very pleased with what I heard.
    Mmm... Saturns.

I usually can not stand gold hardware. Chrome or black for me.
    Proudly playing:
    Doc Sweeney Drums
    A bunch of snares
    A bunch of cymbals

    Off-Set double pedals

I think I love to play the drums simply because you get to hit 'em!!!

I noticed that it had vanished. Glad to hear that they're on the way. You're going to love them.

Hate to admit that I strictly use these as a practice kit. May have to change that.

So the Saturn's came....but they sent the wrong color. Ordered the Blue red hybrid sparkle...they sent the red stratta and the one I want is backordered. Needless to say I'm not happy.

Yeah, there's no comparison in the two finishes. Don't settle. That hybrid is nothing short of WOW.

Oh believe me I'm not....there's going to be a sweetening of the deal for sure. Plus I think half of what I traded in has already been sold. The only other finish I would get is the natural maple burl....and if they'd give me a free upgrade to it I would take it.
