I think your camera takes nice clear shots. Really shows the wood grain and brilliant colors.

    Beautiful kit wideguy!

I got to play on a set of Pro Ms yesterday...absolutely gorgeous The only thing is I was playing the house drummers set at a club, and he was really tall, so I had to stretch a bit and get used to the height of the drums, but it was only for a couple of songs. I loved the sound of the bass and toms, and the guy used a Pearl Free Floating snare...one of the deepest I've seen (though didn't tcatch the actual size). T

The only question I have is about his tom heads. They were Remo Empreror's, but they wern't clear or coated. They felt completely smooth and appeared to be some kind of white plastic. I will admit, they sounded really nice, but I'm curious as to what type of heads these were if anyone could help me out?

Those were Remo Emporer smooth whites. They are like clear emps but are made from a white pigmented mylar. They have that great bite and nice low end. Next best thing to Aquarian respose 2s (IMO)

Does anyone know the bearing edge angle on the pro M snares? Apparently a steeper angle leads to a higher overall pitch, is this true?
I got new snare heads the other day and I decided to opt for a slightly lower sound, so I got a coated powerstroke on the top and an evans genera for the reso. Now it sounds way too low for me, and I'm having issues tuning it higher. Is it the heads or do I need to spend another afternoon tweaking the right sound out of it?

I think you're on the mark with a Powerstroke or a Genera ON TOP but I don't think you want to use those on the bottom or your snare. Not very conducive to a authentic snare sound. For the bottom I recommend a 'snareside' head. Any decent music store will set you up with an Remo ambassador snare side or an Evans 300 hazy. That combined with the powerstroke on top will give you a nice clean snare sound. Enjoy!

That might be a solution; I finally got a decent sound out of it, but the snares are dead. I've adjusted them in a myriad of different ways and they won't produce more then a short buzz, if any thing at all. I think I'll go get a new bottom head and see if that works, thank you my friend.
