Thanks man.
They are sure they can get me a black throw off or chrome one, but a gold one doesn't seem likely but they haven't unpacked everything at their new site yet so I have to wait a few more days - should be all good though, I have no problems having a black one that will (hopefully) match the finish.

JSB, every time I see that snare I like it more and more, and that's not even seeing it in person. I'm so glad you like it like we all knew you would. I hope you will have many happy years together.

Thank you PB, I'm sure we will. I am the same with it though, every time I see it, it's hard to believe I actually own it.
I will take some pics of it with my kit soon, probably at a gig I have in a few weeks... although it doesn't quite fit in with my kit as far as looks go... now how can I get my hands on enough cash for a new kit???
The GAS will always get you.

To become a great drummer first you must be humble enough to learn
My set up
Mapex Meridian Birch - Transparent Walnut
20x22 Bass
10x7 & 12x8 Rack
14x12 & 16x14 Floor
Chad Smith signature Snare
I love my Blaster kit. I love the snare to bits, but I think it will become a side snare at it is perhaps a little too full on for subtle work.
I took some new photos today as I added some more UFIP cymbals and loved every moment of playing it. I'll post some images later.
Sadly not had a chance to use is with a band yet.

jeez....i just realized i haven't been on here for a while. sorry about not getting back earlier Russ.
i use ATTACK single ply coated batter and resos on the toms, an ATTACK Bozzio Signature single ply coated on the snare and an ATTACK clear "No-Overtones" head on the kick batter.
considering dropping the hammer on a black panther snare for my Orion kit
thoughts?
Well, after some time and patience, I've finally found the sweet spot as far as tuning goes for my Saturn set. Of particular trouble was the 10" tom. No more. No moon gell, duck tape, rings.........nothing. Just booms and sings now. It's what I expected when I bought them. Very pleased.
