Anyone know a good place to find older Mapex tom mounts? Just picked up a kit to flip and the mounts are stripped out

Saw pics. Can't really tell how they work. Mentioned something about magnets. They did look quite sturdy.

And quite stupid! IMO. A dumb overpriced resonance lengthening gimmick that the average Joe blow wouldn't notice anyhow.

Too many choices for adjustments in my opinion. The CNC looks high-tech. One word comes to mind when I see tom mounts like this one and the one that comes with the Sonor SQ2 kit...overkill.

Yeah But Sonor SQ2 Birch and the Sonor Designer kits are the 2 best drums sets I have ever heard hands down, and I have just about heard them all.

After watching that video, I completely agree with drummerMD. Over-engineered overkill.

Good point! I think the mounts on the Saturn V kits looks more functional and more elegant. It looks almost like the Gretsch RN2 mount but only attaches to the bottom part of the lug.

Hello Guys, hope I'm in the right chat, need some help related to my kit... I have a Mapex Horizon set and as I understand... there are 2-versions of that model, one is the Poplar/birch hybrid shell and the other is the basswood / birch hybrid shell and well I´m trying to find out which one I have.

I have uploaded some pictures of the internal shell badges as a possible clue of my question... sent also an email to mapex company but didn´t got any answer... pictures available in the following link:

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...wg-7f5TersZ1Aj

So, you Mapex Gods (experts) any comments or evidences about how can I get the specific model of my set? Also If you consider that the info I have is wrong, please let me know, Would really like to learn everything about my set.

Appreciate your attention, greetings from Costa Rica, Central America.
