Story from guy I bought from was the day after it arrived on his door step he set it up and went skiing and tore his right shoulder pretty badly. He has had 3 surgeries in the last 2 years and still cannot lift his right arm much above his chest. I just got it set up, replaced some of the stock heads. Wife is working from home today so have not had a chance to tune her up yet but will tonight. it really is a gorgeous Blue Cobalt or something like that.

Not sure what type of wood this Black Panther snare is made of, the inner color is very dark unlike the rest of the kit?

I had a Meridian Maple for a few years, very nice drums. Very easy to tune, nice warm sound.

And at that price definitely worth it! Congrats.

Yeah, these bear further investigation and possible monetary expenditure.

Just bought this Mapex Saturn 3 in Transparent Walnut. Described as a "Manhattan" by the seller? 22x20, 10x7(8?) 12x8(9)? 16x14. Has been sat for a while so needs a good clean. New Clear Emperors going on also Looking forward to this kit. Completely different from my other ones

Really hoping so. These will be my main gigging kit along with my Yamaha Rock Tour Custom's. I think I will use the RTC's to tour with & the Saturn's for UK gigs No sharing

I am a total Mapex fan. Here are the Mapex kits I have owned.

    V Series 22/16/13/12 (black)
    M Series 20/14/12/10 (honey amber)
Saturn Pro, two sets: 22/14/12/10 and 22/16/13 (dark red, Cherry)

The 22/16/13 Saturn was at our church for many years, and I had sold all of the others. I was playing a Gretsch jazz kit with a Mapex MPX birch 13x6 snare. I also had a Saturn 14x5.5 red sparkle snare that I used at church. In November of 2017, I bought a Saturn V 22/16/12/snare set in Deep Water Burl. Then in June of 2018 I bought a used Saturn Pro set (22/16/12) that had been expertly painted white. A couple of months later, I bought an Armory Tomahawk snare. Earlier this week, I took the white Saturn Pro kit to church and brought the red 22/16/13 set home. At church I play the white Saturn Pros with the red sparkle snare. So here are the Mapex drums I now have.

    Red Saturn Pro 22/16/13
Deep Water Burl Saturn V 22/16/12/snare
    MPX 13x6 Birch Snare
    Armory Tomahawk 15x5.5 Snare

    Peace and goodwill.
