So I've been doing a little research and found Tama actually makes a little metal bracket that bolts to the mount, providing a nice little arm to mount the mic to giving optimal placement. Figured I'd share incase anyone else runs into this issue and didn't know of this option:

    Part number is MHAM10 - I'm getting a quote as I type.
I don't care for their new mount system. If I ever buy a Star, it will be standard.

    I play:

Drums & Hardware: Tama Imperialstar 5pc. Chad Smith Signature Snare by Pearl.

Cymbals: Paiste PST. 14' HH, 16' Crash. Meinl. 20' Ride.

Heads: Evans ST Dry. 14' Evans Hydraulic batter. 8', 10, 14'. Evans Black Resonant and 20' EMAD Black Onyx bass batter.

Sticks: Vic Firth 7A, 5A, 5B. Nylon. Wood.

The stands are great & give my back a rest I'm not using the hi-hat stand as it is a pain with my DW MDD's as they have a wide base plate.
I will use it when I get around to just using a single. My only bugbear about the whole set to be honest is the fixed foot plate on it.

Yeah I agree, my only complaints with that hardware are the fixed foot plate as well and no way to attach a boom arm to any of the stands. I make it work though

What do you mean "fixed foot plate"? The tripod piece is only in one position?
    - Tom

Everyone loves FREE... like this free drum forum. But like your car and even your drums, they require upkeep and maintenance and that requires money.

Will you consider Shopping at Drum Bum to help support this forum?

    Or make a donation here.

I know from working with Drum Bum through the years, that this forum is costly to run. It requires server fees, hosting, ongoing moderation, advertising, software upgrades, security certificates and IT work when it breaks. All in addition to the expenses that come from running a business. These costs are offset (hopefully) by members that click through to Drum Bum to make a purchase now and then, if not make a contribution to help keep it running.

On behalf of Drum Bum, thank you for your consideration. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone!

On most Hi-Hat Stands you can "Swivel" the footplate to accommodate double pedals. On the Crosstown it is fixed in place :(

Maybe v2.0 will add some upgrades like a swivel pedal and included boom arms? Next thing you know there's goes the weight advantage. lol
