Great looking drums Bish and, on a side note, I used to have that same sectional sofa right down to the color.

I'm glad to be back in the Tama gang with a 7pc Superstar in Bronze Metallic Mist! The price was unreal and I've always loved them so I scooped it up immediately. 8x7, 10x8, 12x9, 14x11, 16x16, 5.5x14 and 22x18. They sound sooo good with Clear Emperors and have that birch sound that I love.

Just got a new kit. A Tama Starclassic B/B 22", 10", 12", 14", 16" with a 13"x6" matching snare. Haven't played it much yet. Just quickly tuned it up and set it up. Wrong heads on it right now though. It has the Evans G1 on them. I usually use Remo Emperor. But on this kit I'm thinking about trying Evans G2 again. Used them many years ago. What do you guys think? And should I go Coated G2 or clear G2. I usually use coated since I like a warmer fat sound but It would be nice to see the beautiful bubinga.
The bottom heads on them is clear Evans G1.
I don't have the possibility to post pics right now since I don't have my computer near by but you can see the drums in my profile pic.
Tomorrow will be the first rehearsal with the band and the new drums.

Congrats on the new kit DanielS! Some nice tom sizes you got going. I'd go with the Evans G2 coated for the warm fat sound but maybe change out to the clear G2 when you do your next head change for the visual appeal?

Thanks a lot. Yeah those sizes are nice. I might go with coated. I do like a warm sound so that's what I usually use. I only have to decide if I'm going to go with Evans G2 or Emperor Coated. I have used Emperor a long time and they sound great. But the coating wear out fast. Heard that Evans coating is more durable so it should be wort the little price difference I think.
    Best regards/Daniel

I switched for exactly the same reason but I found that the rebound on the G2 coated wasn't anything near the same on the coated Emperors and that's why I keep coming back to Remo. In my opinion, I can really lay heavy into the Remo heads and the response I get is something I've grown fond of for nearly 30+ years of playing drums.

I've been super happy with coated Emperors in the last year or two. Just my two cents.

Congrats on the kit! I'm trying to pickup a used 4 pc SC B/B right now.

    Bought the SC B/B 4 pc kit. $750. 22/10/12/16.

Has a teeny bit of wear but nothing really noticeable. Hope I have them by Friday. Could gig them Sat night.

Going to look into getting a 14 FT if I can find one or ordering one isn't too pricey.

Are these the hyperdrive version? The toms look very shallow. If so, that's pretty cool.

No time to set it up, but here's the new kit in some mediocre phone pics. The finish is gorgeous and is really barely used. Really lucked out on this deal.
