So I've been doing a little research and found Tama actually makes a little metal bracket that bolts to the mount, providing a nice little arm to mount the mic to giving optimal placement. Figured I'd share incase anyone else runs into this issue and didn't know of this option:

    Part number is MHAM10 - I'm getting a quote as I type.
I don't care for their new mount system. If I ever buy a Star, it will be standard.

    I play:

    Drums & Hardware: DW.

    Cymbals: Paiste.

    Heads: Evans.

Sticks: Vic Firth and Pro Mark 5A, 7A.

The stands are great & give my back a rest I'm not using the hi-hat stand as it is a pain with my DW MDD's as they have a wide base plate.
I will use it when I get around to just using a single. My only bugbear about the whole set to be honest is the fixed foot plate on it.

Yeah I agree, my only complaints with that hardware are the fixed foot plate as well and no way to attach a boom arm to any of the stands. I make it work though

What do you mean "fixed foot plate"? The tripod piece is only in one position?

On most Hi-Hat Stands you can "Swivel" the footplate to accommodate double pedals. On the Crosstown it is fixed in place :(

Maybe v2.0 will add some upgrades like a swivel pedal and include boom arms? Next thing you know there goes the weight advantage. lol

Apparently I haven't actually shown pictures of my kit here!
That seems kind of odd to me because I'm still kind of proud of it through all the changes I've made to it. So as I overhaul it and adapt it more as a studio kit, I'll put pictures here.

The only Tama I have is a mint 14x6.5 Rosewood 40th anniversary Reissue. Absolutely incredible drum that I shouldn't get rid of, but am looking a different rosewood if anything were to come up!

I don't want to jinx it because these sound soooo good with stock heads but so far so good with my new Tama B/W kit. I think this will be my regular gigging kit after the new year. I am also going to try to go back to 2up 1 down instead of 1up 1dwn. I think this is the last Blue Ripple available right now. Sorry not sure why they are at an angle, this is the only site I have this issue with?
