Guy has 4 toms, 9,10,12,15 DW Collectors for $400 on CL. Is it worth it? Wouldn't finding a matching kick be a beast, as well as $$$$.

Just trying to get thoughts. Was going to try to spend $400 on a vintage kit, but haven't found the right deal yet.

It's obviously a great deal, if everything is legit.

DW toms for $100 each? If it's real you should have bought them right there and then. The $400 each sounds more accurate...unless they are stolen.

Here is a couple of pics of my buddy Mark Hill and his DW's. They were bought from Michael Foster from Firehouse. Its actually a 9 piece with double sub-kick all internal mics(2 in each kick).

There's a local drum shop here that has a DW kit with a 5x12 tom, 8x14 hanging floor tom and a 16x20 kick in a zebra finish. The owner said they were called the short stack and they have mini lugs, he's asking $750, good price?

Sounds like a fair price to me JR, especially if its in good condition (I am assuming it's used for $750).

    The rack toms are VLT
The Floor toms are X shells
    The bass drum is VLX!!!

By the way, the VLX is a VLT, X shell combination that alternates plies and is rediculous. This was shown at January's NAMM and I found out about it in a another forum where someone was able to order it, so I HAAD to have it. After much debate with my GC rep and him talking to DW, they made it for me , even though its still not even an option on their website. My best guess is that they are waiting for Summer NAMM to start selling it, but if you really want it you can request it and they will do it. IT IS DEEP. My 22 sounds like a 24 but plays like a 22. The whole kit is amazing. Each tom sounds flawless and rolling around the toms has never made me feel more like neil peart ...(not that I'm thaaat good)...but u get the picture, the kit is very thunderous and the tone is amazing with the stock heads.

    Check the pics

Bubinga Waterfall w/ candy black burst laquer...inspired by a kit i saw in another forum last year.

I have heard murmurings that some of the DW production is moving to Mexico.
As to when ..or the validity of this rumor ...??

First I hafta say Deedub7, that is one amazing looking kit! WOW!

I had posted a couple of pics of my DW's in the Show Your Drums thread earlier, but I took them up north with me on vacation this week and snapped a couple of pics to better show the finish. It's called White Moire (pronounced Mo-ray). Yeah, I'm a drum fanatic, and actually take a kit with me on vacation!

The first pic might be the best representation of the finish. The others show a little more of my setup, and the last one is kind of a driver's seat pic.

Just simply gorgeous Norske! I love it. The first pic was pretty trippy but the others show just how smooth that finish is and it's great. Classy kit my friend, DW FTW!!!
