JayW, is that bass drum pedal leaving a nice grease mark on that light carpet? It makes me cringe just looking at it.

Maybe my stuff is just that dirty, but a carpet that light in color would be instantly ruined if I put my kit on it.

I'll add some photos soon of my first DW kit - a rather special one at that.

I've been keeping a check on that and after a little over a year since we moved in, there are no spots. So far, the biggest problem have been white flakes of paint from the Vic Firth Buddy Rich series that I use.

Please do, I'd love to see some new pics! There are a lot of nice looking kits on this forum and as we all know, there are NO ugly DW's!

Well, a newbie here from Tampa. in my humble estimations, DW is all there is. Lots of great kits out there, but to me, it's the feel and the cut of the drums. And The bass drums...Yowza.

First one is a Classics series. Like an old Luddy with modern technology built in. Mahogany just rumbles. 10(on order) 12-14-16 18x22. 5.5x14 snare. Second is a collectors 10-12-14 18x22. Snare in the picture is a USA OCDP 6x14 whiteout.

So glad to find a DW thread...I can't believe how many boards disparage these wonderful kits. My guess is, if you don't like them, you haven't played one.

They are the best imo, and it's not about cost..

Very nice!!! It would be hard for me to chose which one to play when given 2 choices like that!

Hey scuba- those sure are beautiful kits you've got there. i really like your setup style too. i want to try flattening everything out and keeping things low. it looks really comfy.

Absolutely, flatten them out. Nice upright posture, forward of the seat a little...Very comfy and effective setup to play that way.

Hey Scuba, welcome to DC. Beautiful Dubbs you have there. I read through your thread on the PDF...and you will find a lot of the same opinions about DW here as well, just so you know in advance!

I for one love my DWs.

    Not sure why either.

Anyway, you'll like it here! This is not a "this brand only" site. Lot's of people here who enjoy drumming and enjoy drums of all kinds. That's what I like about it, we can all enjoy the many great brands out there without all of the childish stuff that goes on with some forums out there!
