    Hey, guys.
Not sure if PDP kits belong here, but I have just finished working on my Platinums and here are some crappy pictures of 'em.

(Yeah, the angle of the splash is annoying me, too)

(Can't really take good pictures with such little space.)

    They're a work in progress.

Hey scuba- those sure are beautiful kits you've got there. i really like your setup style too. i want to try flattening everything out and keeping things low. it looks really comfy.
Flat is where it's at. So damn comfy. Matter of fact, I have a short stack dw kit on order too. Can't wait to sit down at those!

No kidden, I had no idea. Did you go to the Neil Peart link and see those two videos? Man how cool to hear those shells getting thumped. The same size shell sounded an entire octave apart when he thumped them.

I saw those a little while back... VERY interesting! You need some decent speakers to really hear it though... sounds really amazing running through my surround sound with the bass turned all the way up.

I have a Drum Workshop Series black chrome over brass snare with the silver oval badge with black writing that says "Drum Workshop" "Made in USA". It has no dated or labels on the inside. Is this an econo line? It has the 2.3mm hoops and 1.3mm shell with round DW lugs. Any info and opinions would be appreciated. Serial #016160

The 10 inch tom came in this week for my Classics series kit...really digging it! Also have 8-10-12-15 ordered in short stack sizes. Both will have the VLT and ESE edge treatment...Cant wait to get those little buggers and mess around with them.
If you have never played a classics kit, and you are in that market, don't pass up playing one. Particularly if you are not 16-20 and not looking for the sound of cardboard. I like my collectors kits, but the Classics are all about big tone. Great thump.

    I have a 2003 collectors black oyster 22 12 14 16.
They are beautifully made drums, no doubt about that!
The bass drum is not as good as my Yamaha maple custom absolute, the
    14 & 16 have great depth, I luv em......but the 12 is a pig, totally untunable.
Have tried all varieties of heads top and bottom, and can never get rid of the
ring tuned high or low in any combination....maybe it's just a rogue tom?
    I'm not giving up though, I am looking for a 22 10 14 shell pack, which I
think will be the right combination for me.
One thing though...they are F***** loud man !!!

That set up looks so clean. I love it Scuba! I actually just went away from that flat cymbal look because I am doing a lot of swing/jazz playig right now. Completely new to me, but I love it.

Have you tried checking the rim to make sure it is true and round. If it is not, you will never get any drum in tune. Lay the rim down on a flat surface and see if it sits completely flat or does it rock. If it rocks back and forth that could be your problem. You probably know this already, but thought I would chime in.

Funny...Looks just like mine! I really cant think of a better setup drum-wise, for me. I am 6"4 and sit high so I have no reach problems...Flat and spread out.
