    Lol. Sorry!

Hmmm...I’ve mounted a cow bell to the bass drum hoop as well as a legless hihat stand and found both types of mounting clamps choked off the tone on the bass drum similar to what a Pearl ISS tom mount does to a tom. If I needed aux hats, I’d use a x-hat boom arm or a remote cable hihat rigged up to a stand.

Good points. I won't mount anything to a bass drum hoop, as a regular habit.

I was thinking of trying it and using small like 6" or 8" splashes as a hi-hat

I would also recommend dogboning off a stand as opposed to the hoop clamp just because you may do some wailing on that sucker and that may fatigue the hoop over time.

This is what I was most worried about. Strength of the hoop with a hi-hat

Nah. I never mount anything on my kick. And definitely not with my new baby:

Are those extra bass drum hoops leaning bubble wrapped against the sofa? Different finish? Or?

The 12x7 A.D.M Jarrah Block from 1991. Killer snare indeed.

And I got the legs too today. Right in time for the rehearsal this night.

    10x7, 15x14, 18x14 and 22x16. The 12x7 tom has been ordered.

Those are indeed extra hoops, in the same finish as the ones that are on the kick.

Yep...that's why I dog boned my legless hihat stand so I wouldn't fatigue the bass drum hoop over time due to the stress and de-tuning issues.

Really? I'd figured with all of your gear and kits, you'd know about the de-tuning issues that come with mounting on the batter hoop of the bass drum???

Choking doesn't really equate to detuning in my drum terminology lexicon.

If anyone has a matching 12x5 model, I would love to hear that!
Even has diecast hoops. Nice! 25lbs that's a beast!

So, I traded my Crush Sublime Maple, 6 piece in SKB Roto-X cases for this 13 year old beauty. Never owned a DW before, so I'm curious where she is gonna take me. Pretty stoked and happy with the exchange. Here she is... 24x14, 13x9, 16x16, 18x16, 14x6.5 in emerald satin finish.
