Classy set up. I’m a fan of the offset toms and love the 9Ks.

Just scored a DW Collectors kit in black oyster glass. 20/10/12/14 maple. As a mostly Tama guy, I've been very impressed by this kit.

Had my first band rehearsal and received very good feedback on the sound.

Headlining a festival Saturday night. Going through the set list a few more times plus getting my mic placement dialed in.

So I bought yet again another set of DW9000 Pedals.
This time though I purchased the XF Longboard double pedal.
I also got the trick shaft upgrade for them right away too.

In this video I compare 3 things:
    1) 1st Generation vs 2nd Generation changes
    2) Standard vs Longboard
    3) DW vs Trick shaft

This is the kit I got in January. We’ve had a couple of recent shows and it has done very well for me.

Beautiful kit. Gosh I hate those drum shields! Do they make you play every gig with it?

No. That was a casino gig so I used it as an extra measure. There is one smaller place other than casino gigs that I’ll use it at to help with volume control.

Well, here we are. I can't believe I'm admitting this. Here's my third DW. Last year playing them at casinos was ear opening. Seeing my buddy pounding his newly acquired kit last weekend convinced me to try again. I'm super glad I did.

It's in a growing phase due to lack of product. More on the way.

I don't think I even showed my Pearl Masters I got back in the fall of '21.

See if I can find the Pearl thread.

Gorgeous Bish, is that copper, orange, or champagne sparkle? I wish I had 1 up 2 down for all my kits.

    Thank you.

DW calls it Gold Finishply. It looks more orange to me, too!

Do you think DW drums are still going to rate "top of the line" prices? Remember when AMF bought Harley Daxidson?

I guess I don't have an opinion one way or another. I don't think it affects me directly so I'll be excited to see what comes of it. I doubt either will faulter for it.

Do you have a view you'd like to share?

    Howdy everyone!

Ryno here... noob to the forum. I've been on several others over the last twenty years or so. The last two became a bit too snarky for my liking, so I've decided to seek my entertainment elsewhere. This looks like a great place and I'm looking forward to participating and hopefully contributing something meaningful!

Figured I'd put my first post in a topic near and dear to my heart. These are my DW drums. 333 shells, 13-16-22 sizes in traditional depths and finished in gloss black lacquer. After having been through a million sets by most of the name brands and many boutique makers, I've settled on these as "my" thing.

Here are some sounds from a recent session with this set:

It's certainly not earth shaking but I am surprised that they would sell. Even if the original senior ownership/management retired there's family behind them. I was hoping for more insight but there seems to be little or none.
