New Ludwig Classic Maples have landed. All new Paiste 2002 series Cymbals. I'm really happy with how everything turned out. I love the finish. The 15" Floor tom will go to the left of the Hi Hats.

I tried putting the 10 and 12 directly over the bass drum and played it for about 2 days and i just couldn't do it. I've had my ride cymbal pulled in over the bass drum for so long that it felt weird having the 10" tom right in front of me as the main tom. I like having the 12" tom right in front of me because the Snare, 12" tom and 14" floor tom is the 3 piece where most of the work happens. So while the placement of the 10" tom might seem weird or uncomfortable to some it fits me well. I like having it a little higher since i play traditional grip i can get my left hand up on the 10" tom without the hi-hats being in the way.

    Drum sizes(diameter x depth) are: 10x7 TT, 12x8 TT, 14x12 FT, 15x13 FT, 16x14 FT, 22x16 BD, and a Ludwig LM402 14x6.5 snare drum.
    Cymbal Sizes (All Paiste 2002) are: 17", 18", 19" 20" Crash, 22" Ride, 12" Splash, 15" Sound Edge Hi-Hats

Mics: Audix D6 (Kick), Audix i5 (Snare), Audix f9 (Hi Hat and Ride), Audix ADX-51 (Overheads), Arriving soon: Electro-Voice ND46 (rack toms and floor toms)

Looks fantastic!! I can see you got rid of your snare tripod and used the stealth set up instead. No more hassles keeping your snare where you want it right?

I got rid of the snare tripod a few years ago. This setup with the Stealth bar is so much more convenient and free's up so much room.

Overhead shot of my new(old) Ludwig setup.
Toms are 14" and 18" and are from a 1981 Duo Modular setup that I recently got.
The kick is a 1960,61,62, or 63 (based on the badge and serial number) 28" marching bass that I found on ebay, converted into a kick and re-wrapped to match.
Primary snare is a limited Brass Edition 6.5x14 Millennium Supra reissue (chrome over brass with tube lugs, cast hoops, and Millennium throw and butt), with Puresound Super 30 wires.
Side snare is a 1979 5x14 Acrolite with a cast hoop on top, and Puresound Super 30 wires.

I'll probably do a thread for the kick, because I have a handful of WIP photos. It was a really fun project, and it sounds AMAZING!!!

Very cool. Out of curiosity, is that a set list on your snare or drumming notes?

I usually don't play more than 1 or 2 shows with the same head (with Almondy Brown), before replacing it with a new one, just to minimize my chances of going through it. lol

I go over the top, for sure. It's all for show, and I have control, but yeah...

It's fun though, and people love it. And if I have some broken sticks and a used drum head with a set list on it to give away at the end of the night, even better. It's probably been a decade since I've actually broken a batter head at a show, since I keep changing them. I always keep a spare primary snare on hand, just in case though.

We only play about once a month. Sometimes less. So it's not like I'm changing them every other week or anything.

And if I don't pull it off to give it away at a show, then it'll get used for rehearsals until I decide to change it. Then it becomes a rehearsal spare or a give away item.

15" is a great size but the selection of heads didn't suit my needs.

I had some prepacked sets of heads and couldn't find a 15" to match. I had tried all 3 major brands. Like I said in another thread that was a few years ago. Current selections maybe has gotten better since then. I primarily use Evans G2 for batters.

In contrast, my Yammys have Remo color match simply for that reason. lol
