Ah man, I was deciding between this set and the Tama metro-jam. I ultimately got the Tama because I found a nice deal online and I liked the Birch shells. Nice looking kit though! Would like to hear how it sounds...

Thanks myk! The Wuhan's at first were different than I was used to and grew on me a little.

The Tama metro jams are almost the same..(birch vs. basswood) the tom is a 1/2" smaller in depth and the floor tom is 2" smaller in depth. They run close to the same price from what I've seen. Still a nice choice georgea...Thanks!

Thanks TxDrummer! They're small, nice to look at and would make an awesome starter kit.

I believe it was around the start of the new year. I saw an article about it around that time. He said he was going back to his "roots" (no pun intended), and he said that overall he liked Ludwig more that Yamaha. But if you watch Jimmy Fallon, he does pay homage to Yamaha by still using their SubKick.

Off topic from Ludwig, but speaking of ?uestlove, usually I hate cymbal stacks, but I've always loved his. It's gotta be the most expensive cymbal stack out there. He's using a 20" Oriental Crash of Doom on top of a 20" K Constantinople Medium Thin Low Ride (with a tambourine on top). If I had a K Constantinople, I'd be too afraid to stack another cymbal on top of it and bang away at it like it only cost a couple hundred bucks. But hey, if you're sponsored, I guess you could just get another one whenever you want.

I have the Ludwig Centennial"Moby"" series. The working mans John Bonham kit. Came with an extra 14'' floor tom, and an extra 13'' rack tom. I sold the Floor tom, and am still waiting for the Atlas tom mounts to come out for sale, so in the mean time, I'm playing the typical Bonzo set up.

I believe a P-86 or even a Trick retro fit for a P-85 will work.

Slinky, I don't think the standard Ludwig throws or Trick will fit....................To me, the holes seem further apart than a supra/acro/BB would have. I can measure them tonight if you want.

There is a vintage drum guy in Iowa that will know -- you can find him by searching the web.
There is another vintage shop in New York.
The guys at Forks (Nashville) are helpful, even though they specialize in Gretsch.
And..............you might find the answer at the Ludwig webpage.

    Good luck !

I have an old Ludwig & Ludwig 1939 Super-Swing snare model #51. It has some issues but plan on fixing up what I can.

    ^^^^

someone put screws too long and cracked the hoop

someone notched out the hoop for what seems a short tension rod....ughh. They also ground the tips of the claw down.
