I'm looking at a 6 piece Mapex Saturn kit in Transparent Walnut finsh with black hardware, or the same kit in Transparent Cherry Red with black hardware. If it goes through, this would be one of those once in a lifetime deals. We'll see.

Just got a call from my daughter, and something has happened that may require some financial help from me. Looks like the Saturns are not going to happen. Priorities.

Yeah, I don't think I could turn my back on Gretsch. I guess I'd just be a switch hitter.

Thanks Jivey. Sometimes life intrudes on the best of plans, and we just have to roll with it and realize what's really important. Believe me, I would sell every piece of musical equipment I have to help my kids, if they needed it. Of course, I'd have to be in here more often, just so I could live vicariously through you guys!

This Gretsch Drum thread has been a little slow lately. I hope all is well with everyone. My drum set has added a few changes. I now have a nice Paiste 20" ride. Also I have .............well uh...........hehehehe............uh ok I well tell you .......................a new PEARL limited edition 14X5 birch snare. I wanted the sound this snare offered. I played it on stage twice and got some nice complements. I hope this gets you Gretsch lovers on this thread and keep us going!

I got the set in 2009 and have never tired of playing them and loving the sound. This video was taken a few weeks ago. Hope to post some pics on Show Us Your Drums and Birds Eye View sometime.
