It's a 12x8" Stop sign badge, a 15x12" or 15x13" (not sure which, haven't measured), Drop G badge. And a 20x14" or 20x16". Have to measure the depth on the floor tom and bass drum😀
The snare drum is a Tama Starphonic Steel 14x6".

It's a 12x8" Stop sign badge, a 15x12" or 15x13" (not sure which, haven't measured), Drop G badge. And a 20x14" or 20x16".

First Stop-Sign Badge (SSB) shells were 1972 - 1979 Jasper maple.
It is my understanding that all 15 inch toms had a depth of 12 inches and all the bass drum shells offered at the time had a depth of 14 inches.

The measurements are with hoops removed.

Those are fantastic. The flat bases are perfect with that kit! I just bought a pair of DW flat base stands and love them.

I sold my Gretsch 5X14 COB 4000 series snare last week (see three posts above)...............some guy in Brooklyn (home of Gretsch) got a great deal.
I ordered the BRONZE version on June 15th and I am waiting for assembly and delivery from SC.
Gretsch #4169B is the 6.5X14 reflected below; this one has the micro throw with the 42-strand snares, 20 lugs, and, of course, cast hoops.

Back in the late 80s, I had purchased a 1954 3-ply Gretsch USA snare (you might recall the WMP) for significantly less than it was worth.
Completely unexpectedly, I met the guy that sold it to me many years later.
He remembered me buying that snare drum -- and I told him that it just might be the best snare I've ever owned.
A few months ago he called and asked if he could buy it back -- he had found a matching Gretsch RB kit 20/13/16.
I know the guy has about 30 good snare drums and he asked me if I would come look at what he has and maybe we could make a trade.
I told him he was the only person I would ever do that for because he had sold me the drum and because he had found the matching shells.
(And........during this process I had also discovered that I got the drum for a great price because he was -- at that time -- broke and hungry.........which did not make me feel good.)
The COB 4160 pictured above is the trade we made................we both figured a USA is a good swap for a USA.

However, I have always wanted one of the 6.5X14 Gretsch 20-lug USA snare drums and I decided to go with the bronze version (4169B) because I think it will be the most versatile.
Just like you would expect from Gretsch, you have to order it to get it built..................I ordered the drum on June 15th..................my original ship-date was July 12th...............they have changed that date 7 times and the current ship-date is August 24th...............maybe I'll have it before September.
The COB was 10 years old and absolutely flawless...............I sold it to a collector in NYC for a good price................maybe more than I could have received from the WMP............the collector was looking for a 4000 series COB with a drop-G SSB and that is exactly the snare I had.
I got a decent deal on the bronze drum............with points and discounts I saved about $100.............to get one of those for less than $400, I had to go for it.

But it's a virgin bass drum with short depth toms which I love.
Antique white in color.
Mint condition, guy bought it 7 years ago and never played it never moved it... just sat collecting dust.
I gave it a good cleaning and put some EC2 heads on it and it just sings!
I'm pretty impressed to be honest.

Certainly not the "classic" Great Gretsch Sound but with your knowledge of shells and heads, I'm sure it will be fine.

[BTW -- the snare pictured above is SUPPOSEDLY to be built soon and shipped on 9/13.................I say supposedly because Gretsch has moved the date 9 times.]

I did.. I'm playing a show this weekend to cover for some friends and all of my kits have become a little ridiculous to travel with.
So I just decided to look online for a kit I like at a price I can't say no to.
