I just thourght i would start a punk discussion thread.

yea punk sucks!!!...nah its okay...where most bands start in the world...then they branch out... my band started with the blues tho' cause if you can play the blues right then you've already done the hard part of playing...youve gots some soul....lol

Punk isn't really my thing either. It just seems that no-one knows the meaning of punk anymore and all the "punk" bands have sold out and become mainstream, or worse, emo.

Not ripping on punk though, it does require a lot of speed and accuracy in its drumming. So i'll often play some to work on those areas.

Agreed. I liked punk when it was anti-establishment and it was impossible to define what a punk was.

All there is now is a watered down version of original punk and hardcore. Up the Sex Pistols!
