I thank you all for the history lessons. I did not know most of that.

I just decided to start mic'ing my drums, LOL. At least the bass. After listening to our last few videos over & over, it's pretty obvious. Granted, it's a crappy live recording made with a Zoom Q2, but they just can't compete with all instruments we have going at times. The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know and how much I have to still learn

Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
Thanks Late8
It's a lot of fun to play
My buddy has an old Rogers 14x10 marching snare that would match your kit perfectly Spaz. He won't part with it though
I think orange sparkle is my favorite sparkle. Even better than gold. I would like to cover my 14/16/28 Ludwigs in orange sparkle.....I think it would look great with the long "Mach" lugs.

Hi folks! I just found what I think is a good deal on CL for a used pdp kit. It is 7-piece: 3 rack toms, 2 floor toms, bass drum, and snare. It also includes 5 Sabian cymbals, plus 2 hi-hats. All hardware is included. I don't know the sereies of the kit, nor the drum dimensions. It is listed as being "like new."
Problem is, I don't need another set right now. I have 2 sets I'm very happy with: a Tama, and a Mapex. If I were to buy the pdp, I would hold onto my other sets. Also, the new kit would take up much more space in my practice room. Right now I can get away with squeezing 2 friends and their amps into my room. That would not be possible with the pdp.
Today is Friday. I have told the owner if he hasn't sold the drum by Sunday, that I will go take a look at the set. He lives only 15 minutes away. I have the cash available, but I'm a little hesitant to spend it. What do you think?
Sounds like you found a PDP X7. I have an X7 kit and I absolutely love it. It has been one of the best purchases for me. I've also set it up in 10+ different ways and it always works out great. If room is an issue you don't have to setup the full kit or you can try to arrange it a hair different. Try 3 across top, one FT on your left and one FT on your right. etc.
The color is egg shell white.
White is a super clean color
White kits look great imo
Gigged with the red sparkle CXR at a casino last night. It looked stunning under the lights and the sound guy raved about it. Huh? $200... who'da thunk it.

So I ordered a 16" floor tom for my PDP Birch kit ditect from DW on Monday this week (28th). I had to go out of town for work on Tuesday. Got back home on Thursday (yesterday) to find that the drum had arrived on Wednesday (30th). I could not believe, and was very excited, to find my new drum had come so quickly! Got it put in with the rest of the kit last night and practiced with the new configuration a bit. I felt like a total beginner at first, being that I've never had 2 floor toms before along with 3 rack toms, but got the feel for it soon enough. Need to order new heads for all my toms now but, I'm having fun playing them as is for now!

2 toms still with factory stock heads and 3 with pinstripes over a year old. Time for some new heads. My wifes gonna kill me in my sleep one of these days! LMAO

love it
Your beautiful little daughter reminds me of my granddaughter - perfect sweetness with much cleverness behind those eyes! She's the first girl we've ever had in our immediate family - it's always been boys running our place - and learning to raise a girl has been quite an education. And she's the only one in the family who shows any interest in my love of drums and music. Maybe your daughter and my granddaughter will be the next drumgirl phenoms!
I've already commented on how much I like your PDPs in your other threads. Good job.

Those look awesome.
