That's a nice piece o' hardware right there. Congrats.
By many of my good friends here on drum chat, I am pleased to show you my new 14x6.5 Yamaha Brass Snare Drum. It has some wear on it, but nothing horrible, and once I get a chance to take it apart and polish it up, it will be gorgeous, but most importantly it sounds fantastic.
As you can see it is what I call a hybrid snare, meaning it is a marching snare sort of, it is hard to explain really, it has all the features of a normal snare drum, but then it has that super beefy throw-off(which I have the handle for, just have not reinstalled it). It has the guitar string snare wires, which I quickly fell in love with and a beefy butt plate, so I just call it a hybrid.
NOTE: My good friend mark, which I have started a collaboration project with, titled "The Project" gave me this snare drum, we are working on several songs at the moment, and it will be a mix of Blues, Progressive rock, some funk and even a little metal, we are keeping the door wide open, and playing pretty much whatever comes out, really excited about it.
Anyway here she is.

Look like nickel wound snare wires ala Grover..?
That snare is amazing.
Very intriqued by the snare 'guitar' wires.
Signature here
I'm with Bish...very intrigued by the Guitar string snares. Kind of reminds me of the "Old days" when we used Cat-Gut snares.
There's a lot to be said for Time Honored tradition and value.
