OK folks, last night I let the camera roll and I played for a while. I ended up liking this song best so here it is.

It's not a note-for-note cover, more just me having a good time.

    Here goes...

Very cool CycleDude!! It sounded great!

Please tell us how you worked it out, because I've got an e-kit that I will be sending to my daughter, and I'd love to tell her how she and her husband could record it so I could hear them progress.

Rock' out, man!!! Great job and love that tune!! Did you just run the drum module straight into your video cam or did you have have to perform some overdubbing hocus pocus, synching the video with the recorded drums?

Hey Kevin...I really liked that...way to go! Question, though...I was impressed with your LH because the snare pad seemed lower to me than I would have expected for a traditional grip player. Does that ever cause you any fatigue? I've always been a Trad. grip player but I have noticed that I am playing matched grip more frequently. It just seems so much easier to me and I am able to play out more.

Thanks Guys and Gal! It was actually pretty easy.

I ran the audio out of the ekit brain to to the mic in on the MacBook, using a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter. I used Mac's Garage Band program which is pretty straight forward, once I figured out how to select the mic source! I saved the audio file which was the mix as you heard it and saved it as an mp4. I could have layered the original song and EQ'd it, but it was 1 AM and I was satisfied.

The camcorder was essentially video only (which during playback was kinda funny because it was all just tap tap tap on the pads, since the audio went straight to the Mac.)

I imported the video into Mac's iMovie program and dubbed the mp4. The only tricky part is syncing the sound and video to avoid the Godzilla effect, but even that only took a few minutes.

Overall, I'm happy. It wasn't the song I wanted to do, but I was just jamming to a bunch of stuff and really liked that one.

Thanks again everyone for the kind words, and to everyone who helped me figure out the sound stuff in my other thread.

    You all ROCK!

Ya know, I'm the exact opposite, Frank.

I was always matched and just switched to traditional about a month ago. I figured that since I haven't seriously played in a number of years, that as long as I was reinventing myself, I might try the new grip and so far I like it. It's weird moving around the toms this way though.
