I'm most partial to my snare drum. I wouldn't trade it for a million bucks. (Ok, maybe a million).

I don't know if i can decide on one fav component....i just love the whole set...i dunno...that's a tough question...but i guess if i had to narrow it down i'de say the bass drum...nuthin like a good thumpin....or maybe the china cymbal....just b/c one time i was in this band and the singer was taunting me and pissing me off so when he bent closer to yell at me his ear was right next to the china and i hit the cymbal as hard as i could....he shut up after that then he quit the band....he couldn't sing anyway

This is tough... I would say it's my Sabian 14" AA Sizzle Hats. I love the effects of the sizzle rivets.

...in that case, I've heard of 'em. Hey, maybe they should invent Hi-hat rivets.

that would be crazy...then if u bored some small holes in the bottom cymbal so u could hear the rivets well when the hh was closed...interesting...

They ARE in my hi-hats. Sabian AA hi-hats. Sabian calls them Sizzle Hats. They are FANTASTIC!!! I Wouldn't trade them for any other hats out there.

I got them in 1986 or 1987. I was in Sam Ash for hours going back and forth between different hats when I desided to try Sabian. One try on them and I took them home on the spot. You can't imagine the sound the rivets add. My favorite is when they're partly open. They have air holes in the bottom bell and eight rivets.

I guess a solid BD is what I can't be without. Without some good bottom end, it just doesn't sound right. Thats my .02.
