Default Drum tricks to impress friends?

I'm not talking about stick flipping and stuff like that. I'm talking more about rhythms that are easy to play for a decently skilled drummer, but hard to pick up just by looking at it.

    Any suggestions?

Yeah, quads and bonham triplets always get a good rise. Cross rhythms are good as well (and practical), and high hat tricks are great fun.

Yeah, cross sticking has certianly helped me impress some friends, adding an open high hat adds a really neat sound.

    R-L-K?

Need to try that, thanks for the tips.

    that would be undefined sounding?

I like to start a solo and in the middle get up run a lap around my kit (while playing) then sit back down and flam my double kick then my snare.

I guess that would save you about 15 bucks on a Gibraltar stick holder too . Also helps with hygene too , preventing you from picking your nose during gigs .

Play blindfolded! I'd throw some cross overs in there (Cross stickings has been said... same thing?) those always look sick, and are fun.

I haven't intentionally done it, but I noticed that when my friends drink more, I play better.

A little late, perhaps, but playing kinda funky rhythms one handed and steadily making them more complicated gets a rise out of people, as does, essentially, starting anything slowly and getting faster and faster until you can't hold on to the sticks any longer, you let go, they fly off and impale somebody's grandmother.

I'd go with Shabutie if you want something simple. Triplet fills with the kick sound really cool, and aren't that hard to do.
