    Default Help with moviemaker...

So, I'm trying to do one of these covers and it starts out fine...but slowly the video pulls away from the audio like the video is faster than the audio track. Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance guys.

What is your source video? Are you mixing an audio track to the video? Answer these questions I may be able to be mroe helpful, but otherwise, if your using the PC while it is exporting/encoding the clip - that may be doing it, or otherwise your PC may not be equipped to handle the processing required. Without being at your PC it's hard ot say much, but answer those first two questions and I'll see what I come up with

The source video off my camera is an MOV, so in order to use it with Windows Moviemaker, I have to use a converter and convert it to a WMV. After I do that I upload it to the WMM program, and then import the audio track. Thanks for your help.

Is the video still playing correctly after you convert it?

The video plays fine...it just doesn't sync the whole time with the audio.

The one that comes with XP, not Vista...if that helps.

oh ok - that could be part of the problem - My first bit of advice would be to download and install the latest version from the Windows Update website. I had the same version and had the exact same problem when I was adding a second audio track. The other thing I would suggest is to split the audio/video from the source clip and run the two audio tracks that way, as by default the audio and vidoe are still linked - that may help also.

Beyond that, the only other thing I can think is that your CPU/Memory isn't able to keep up during the export/encoding process which will cause delays visible as the problem you're describing.

Thanks for the help! I will mess around with it some more. Not the end of the world if I can't get it to work though you know?

    Thanks!

Movie Maker isn't the best. It's actually pretty hard to sync up audio the way you are trying. Kevin (DWDrummer) is the video master, so maybe PM him.

Good call on that too. Does anyone know of better video software which is user friendly?

Pinnacle, but it's like $99. It's pretty easy to use, but much more full featured than Movie Maker.
