Default Warmup and a Few little songs

Hello all, a little new here but I've been lurking to see how the flow in these wonderful forums goes.

Recently I've decided to record a few songs my band plays with my Sony Cybershot S500. The sound quality isn't great and you can tell the mic is dynamic, but you can still hear all of the hits and see all of the mess-ups.

I know some of my techniques are bad habits, which is one reason why I've recorded myself, but now I'm just looking for some overall opinions.

    Here you go

Thanks man. There were a few times where you can see where I either almost lost my sticks or completely forgot what I was going to play, other than that I'm happy with it.

Gibby...Welcome to the Forum and thanks for posting your vid. Recording your practices is one of the best learning tools you can hope for. It will point out areas of concern needing attention. You have a lot of energy and zeal. You are also very loud. Never forget the the drums can be played as musical instruments. Imagine what a bit of dynamic contrast can do for your tom-tom patterns and accents. When you play the hi-hat to keep time, you have to lock yourself in the "Pocket" and not worry about what's coming up. You have a tendency to speed up while playing the "hat." This is very common and something we all have to be careful of. What I saw is someone who has the basics to really shine but needs to focus on those details that will make you shine. Keep it up!!
There's a lot to be said for Time Honored tradition and value.

Good job Gibby, and Welcome to Drum Chat!

I haven't decided if you're a really hard hitter of if those drums just resonate like crazy?? What kind of kit are you playing?

Why do psychics have to ask you your name? And how come you never heard of a psychic winning the lottery?

Yes, I have learned quit a bit from watching myself play over the last few weeks, it really has helped a ton. Honestly, I appreciate good constructive criticism more than I do anything else. I will take what you said to heart and really work on it. But, I will defend myself on the loudness: The room is small, and everything on my kit is bright. I could have played a TON louder, but the mic on my little sony camera didn't help any.
