I really need bulk drumsticks. I broke 2 pairs of sticks at my bands practice tonight. We play hard rock, and they have 2 half stacks, which makes it incredibly hard to hear me cause im not miked, so i have to play really loud, and therefore, my sticks break ALL the time.
    Does anyone have a site?

I've bought "rejects" From a music store ha ha once from Pro mark, and another time from Vater, i thought it was a great deal for me! Out of 20 there was like 2-3 that when mid playing i grabbed and thought whoa, bad news and tossed it right away, but other than that, i was satisfied. I used to order the Novas from Musicians friend quite often but have been disappointed in the last two packs i ordered from them, they didn't hold up at ALL!

I love ProMark sticks. They have a light finish on their sticks that just feels perfect to me. I've got plenty of other sticks that I bought to try out, but now I keep going back to the ProMark sticks. As to how they hold up, I get plenty of use out of my sticks. For the most part I think that it has less to do with the stick than it does with my improved technique. I used to make firestarters out of my sticks pretty quickly. Now I'm doing much better.

What technique do you use to not break sticks?

For me it seems that you have to let the stick rebound of the drum and not just push it down. And try to think of the energy that you are putting on the drums/cymbals with your sticks angle. It all has to do with energy placement, bro!

Ya know all the name brand companies sell in bulk.Of course they'ld rather have you buy ther sticks that pass the quality control tests which they all have, instead of the 2nds for the obvious $$$ reason.

The 2nds that the big names have didn't pass 1 of the test, be it pitch, or a blemish in the wood, etc...For the average drummer out there perfectly pitched sticks mean zero.
If the weight is off a miniscule amount you would never feel it playing them but they become 2nds.They cant recycle drum sticks and turn enough of a profit so sell them in bulk and make a cpl bucks.

Usually the sticks are fine and you wouldn't notice a difference in a perfect pair or a 2nds pair.I get around 100 pair a yr. (Vater endorsment) and have gotten a cpl boxes of 2nds when I stop by the factory to give to my buddy who likes to rob my stick bags.

they sell bulk packs of sticks w/no logo on them to chain type stores like you see the big buckets of. Those are junk..knots in the wood, weights horrible..but they sell them for the all mighty $$$$.

So buying in bulk is the way to go, and the average "Joe" would do just fine buying 2nds in Bulk...you'll save a fortune in the long run.

Drum Bum has a custom drumsticks program where they print names, logos and stuff on the sticks and they've been getting great feedback on the quality of them. This surprised me because they're basically considered 2nds. For visitors that may not know me, I've been helping them with marketing through the years and occasionally other projects. They recently built a new website at Drumsticks.org that covers everything custom printing and even has a guide that answers a lot of questions for anyone that might be interested.

I just got 24 pair of Vater Goodwood 2B’s but going to look at the link and maybe get something.

I meant 12 pair of sticks. Vater are some of the strongest sticks out there. When I used a pair before they almost felt too dense. But I wanted to get something that I know will last a while. These have that heavy dense feel like before but after a few practices using them they feel pretty good. Still using the first pair.
