No, it's not just you...
Since I've been on Drum Chat, just lately I've been experiencing a lot of threads that seem to have little if any value to the topics that are addressed and basically from one person. This happens on most thread topics, particularly "Drumset". Maybe they are just trying to rack up their thread count, I don't know. I'm not trying to make waves and wonder if any one else took notice to this. If not, then it's my imagination, which is not entirely impossible.
Thanks,
Dennis
No, it's not just you...
There's a lot to be said for Time Honored tradition and value.

I noticed this when I logged in today. I don't get the whole "post count" thing though....
Some think it adds brilliance to ones words, others take each comment for what it's worth.

I agree but hope I am not one of the folks you are referring to. I try to add value in any of my threads or threads I reply to. There are a copule of freebie threads like I Win and Three Word Story but the others I do not tend to comment in. The off topic area has a great deal of repeat threads too.
All and all DC is a great place, and as it grows I am sure it will figure out what if anything to do with such threads.
Nah i know what you mean, i would agree. I usually only post threads when there is something i want to address. I think its worse with posts, i mean fine if its an off topic thread but in some other threads ive seen the same person post 4-5 messages which are mostly just random comments. Its fine sometimes but can get annoying
I will admit my guilt........ I just like to read and post what I feel.
I try to add positive feedback, and if I have nothing positive, I will just try to make someone laugh.
funny, but the ones who think its them are the furthest thing from it!

He knows who he is. I would like to remind everyone to please post intelligently. Don't just post to get your count up. If you're doing that in the "I win" threads or others like it, no one cares but please add quality content to the drum threads. This makes it a better forum for everyone.
I know I sometimes comment on someone elses post in a thread and it might not be on topic. Lately, I've been away more than here so I shouldn't be offending that often.

We all do sometimes and this gives the threads a bit of flavor, there's nothing wrong with that. None of the people who responded to this thread is the person to whom I was initially referring.

Yikes! I just returned from a long weekend out of town, and I have to think that you're referring to the person that responded to just about every single thread in the Drumset section. That's just ridiculous.

Why do psychics have to ask you your name? And how come you never heard of a psychic winning the lottery?

Wow! I had to go and see if someone really did reply to every thread in the Drumset section and MortalCombat, come on, what's up bro? Well if your comments are value added then way cool if not, hmmmm shame on you
OK ...........my bad , sorry I ignored your e-mails drummer .
and I am a jokester but I trully try to give help on here. Nuff said But I will try harder
Guys, I would suggest that instead of taking someone to the woodshed in a public way, it might be better to just PM someone about your concerns. Just keep it positive and help them understand what it means to be a good Drum Chatter. Sometimes people will come from other drum forums where they have been badly burned, or they just picked up bad habits. If the member's PM's do not help, then it can be referred to the moderators. I just think that complaining in this way might not produce the results that people want.

I know I post a lot. A LOT. But (I think) my comments are meaningful and not just random thoughts. Except in the off topic section. If it's me please let me know.
Matt
Yohin, you're the one I'd LEAST expect to do that. I'm probably someone who does it....
