    Nice stack idea. The flanger crash is not formally round like most cymbals. Its very wavey.
    I'm going a 14" Swiss Crash and the 10" Swiss Splash shortly.
    I figure the 14" can convert to a hihat top and the 10" will also make a nice hihat top on my 10" Signature Splash.
    The 10" Swiss Splash stacked on the 14" Swiss Crash is a nice sounding stack too.

    Ever heard a Paiste T20 prototype ride? It's made from B20 bronze, not B8. Now this is a great sounding cymbal. I am NOT a fan of Paiste cymbals, but this one is delicious.

    Actually changed my mind-
    I've ordered a PST 8 Reflector medium crash 18" that sounds awesome, an Alpha rock crash 18" and the PST x Swiss flanger crash 14"-
    I've mounted the flanger crash right on my PST 7 china 14", and BOOM- the perfect stack!

    Cool Re: Paiste Cymbals

    I recently returned to drumming after a thirty year break.
    So I picked up where I left off and bought a few Paiste cymbals.
    Trad signature 10" splash, 16" thin crash and 14" HH sound edge.
    Absolutely ideal. I love the mushy HH sound when loose and the clear crash.
    I also managed to keep hold of a 2002 18" flat ride that I bought in 1979.
    I love that dry sound. Still need to get a 20" ride though.

    Excellent!

    Can't beat those Paistes. Been playing the 2002 line since 1982.

    Finally purchased my FIRST BRAND NEW cymbal set ever! I've always loved the 2002 line. I have a vintage black label 22" ride and 18" crash. I can't afford new 2002 cymbals, so I've been eyeballing the PST7's. I was thinking on picking up a set of 14" PST7 hats and a 16" crash to go with my existing 2002s. Today, I walk in to a local mom & pop music store to get a powered mixer fixed. As in walking out, I see a wall of new demo cymbals marked down on clearance. So.........I walk out with these;

    14" hats
    16" crash
    18" crash
    20" ride

    All are PST7 mediums. All look like new except for finger prints. The BEST PART;

    How could ANY self respecting drummer walk away from a deal like that?

    Looks like regular street price from GC is $425 for the set, but only includes the hats, ride & 16" crash. Add in the 18" crash and I'm guessing I'd be looking at around $550 std. Retail for what I got. Being the farm boy that I am, I tried to talk them down to $250 since I wanted the entire set. They didn't take the bait . They thought they were already cheap enough.

    They're not exactly top-tier, but they do sound a LOT like 2002s...just a little less refined. I think they'll be great for live gigs. I'm just excited to finally have all matching cymbals, LOL.

    Got to use the new PST7's for a full practice yesterday. Honest assessment; pretty darn good but definitely not 2002s. As most reviews state, they don't quite have the full bodied spectrum of sound that 2002s have. Mostly missing the lows. I'd put them between the Signatures and 2002s. Not quite the smooth, shimmering highs of the Sigs and not quite the full lows as 2002s. These are the mediums, so maybe the light/sessions weight would be darker. They are, after all, B8 bronze. Still, that's pretty good company to be in. I love the hats....even better than my Sig hats which are almost obnoxiously bright and loud. The 16" crash is nice, but more on par with a 14". The 18" crash is decent. The 20" ride is OK, but a little too bright and clean for my taste. I'm used to my 22" 2002 ride, which is pretty hard to top in my opinion.

    Overall; a very nice set of B8 cymbals and a bargain for their price. They fit exactly where they were designed to. They'll make a great practice set, but are definitely gig-worthy as well. For $280 out-the-door I have no complaints.

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
