I play a little bit of everything. I don't have a double bass pedal,my back isn't the best and I have tried in the past to use one, just hurt to bad. It's fun to play, but getting a little cramped sitting behind it now.

    Hi, m8!

A veritable plethora of percussion possibilities. An audio orchestra to be envied (forgive me, PB!).

Sorry to hear about the back problem. Have you ever tried a weight-lifter's back belt?

    Cheers!

Congrats on bustin' the barrier! Good lookin' kit and a solid basis to get good on. Take lots of pic's now and record the serial numbers. If none, put your name and birthdate on a piece of paper taped inside each shell.

I'll never forget the day I got my first kit (used--looked like it was beaten like a military mule)---or the day I unpacked my brand new, out of the box kit.

    Cheers!

That does look like a heap of fun to play.

Just one observation; how do you manage to contort your feet to play your hi-hat and bass drum when the pedals are at near 90 degree angles to one another. I'm sitting at my desk whilst typing and trying to do it and it just plain hurts! Maybe that is contributing to your back problems.

It looks like it would be hard but it's really not as bad as it looks. That was a quick picture and haven't really had time to get everything back the way it should be. I just added the Octos yesterday and had no time to play. The pedals will change when I have time to sit and get everything back in order.

Setting up for a show tomorrow! I somehow got my drums sounding the best they've ever sounded, and in the most perfect position they've ever been in. I literally have never felt so comfortable behind a drumset. I can't WAIT to go play them tomorrow!

Picked this up yesterday on the Bay.
Noble&Cooley bass drum (18x8 says the seller) with this beautiful painted head.

I saw this on eBay months ago and even my wife remarked what a beautiful painting this was. I didn't think anymore about it until it came up again for auction and I was ......yes.....prowling for cool vintage drums. There was a Buy Now and a Make an Offer button. I made an offer and it was declined. I answered and said I will keep my offer open if he changes his mind ......and he did shortly thereafter and accepted my offer.

The following is an email from the president of N&C Mr. Jay Jones. The email was sent to the former owner and he forwarded it to me yesterday:

It was manufactured in Granville MA around 1900 by the Noble & Cooley Co. They have inventory of the printed heads in stock and on display in their Museum. N & C was founded in 1854 and still manufactures toy drums for gift shops and high quality musical instruments for the music industry. www.noblecooley.comHope this helps!
