Better late than never, I suppose.

And yes, that is a hihat stand with the pedal pointed the wrong way in the second image. I wanted to be able to ride closed hats and still work my regular hats with my foot. I haven't found a post long enough to mount both top and bottom on a regular cymbal stand. The jury's still out on whether or not I like it, anyway.

Nice looking finish. This makes 3 newly acquired kits? Who's counting right?

Very cool! I have a remote and a closed HI-Hat systems I use from time to time. I also have a Gibraltar Vertical Stealth Mounting System that I'm very happy with which allows me to eliminate cymbal stands all together! lol. Here's an older pic of my Saturns, I will be setting them up shortly mixing the Stealth and rack system together and putting my Hi-Hats ( on the remote ) out front leaving my left side open for a couple of acrylic octobans. We'll see! lol. I have 7 kits but not the room for all to be set up at once, so I have to rotate set ups. I'm in So. Cal and I'm not lucky enough to have a basement.DSC01670.jpgDSC01646.jpg

Had a chance to play this Mapex M Three series kit yesterday and I was so thoroughly impressed, I've been poking around on the internet and found some great deals on a few used Saturn series maple/walnut hybrid kits and I can now honestly say that Mapex sounds better than my DW's but I need a kit like I need another hole in my head...

I was looking at this one. Saturn V Tour Marine White wrap: 16x24” 9x13” 14x14” 16x16” just north of $1700. I like squared dimensions on the floor toms and the 16” depth on a 24” kick. White marine wrap would look good under stage lights.
