    Cool ZBT's almost gone!

Well, life is good. I bought a 15" A Custom Rezo crash about 2 months ago, and I like the sound a lot. But I was still stuck with ZBT hat, 17" crash, and ride. So yesterday, the lovely woman I am blessed to call my wife sends me a listing off Craigslist from a guy with a bunch of drum gear for sell. I went over after work and walked out with a 17" A Custom crash, 14" A Custom hats, and a 20" A Deep ride. The only ZBT left is my 10" splash, which I picked up for like $20, and I actually kinda like the sound of it.

So things are pretty good. Drums are sounding better than ever. If only I could afford to take his snare collection off his hands. Get this: the guy was a professional musician, but is going to law school! Oh well, I guess you gotta do what you gotta do, right?

I actually find that B8 alloy splashes sound, well, splashier than B20 alloy. I think the B8 alloy lends itself better to a bright, transparent sound.

Haha, thats a sick deal man, custom A's sound great, I have a drum teacher with part of a set. I wish that I could get rid of my ZBT's but they're all I have, and they do the job. Someday when I have money I might go for some better cymbals. But that will be a long time from now.

Keep watching the classifieds. If you're patient you can piece together a nice set one cymbal at a time. Until then, the ZBT's will definitely do the job. I'd rather play on a pie pan than not play at all.
