Re: Hit a massive rough patch
Not sure how old you are, but I’m assuming traditional college age(?). I had some extremely rough times in my early 20’s as well. Mostly revolved around a girl that left me standing at the alter...and living in an empty house that I couldn’t afford, 200 miles away from friends & family. To say it was rough would be an understatement. But......
I’ll tell you the same thing that someone much older than myself at the time said; “You’re young, smart, and talented. You have an entire life ahead of you. It will be full of disappointments and rough times, but also happiness, success and joy. You can do anything you want. You’ve got the world by the tail, but you just don’t realize it.”
He was right. It didn’t seem like it at the time, but looking back, I now understand. There are things I might do differently if given a second chance, BUT, it was the rough times that provided me with all the opportunities I was given. A life without challenges, failures and heartbreak is not much of a life. I’ve grown to embrace them for what they are and am thankful for them.
Go out there, grab life by the Cajon, and make it what you want it to be.

"Too many crappy used drum stuff to list"
Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!
"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham
