I found this laying around so I figured I would put it up or go see if my car can actually hit 169 MPH. It is supposed to be able to unless a tree gets in the way.

It has just been a bad day, a really, really, really, bad day.

    It's all perspective, my friend.
Your worst days behind a kit are light years ahead of my best days.

AND, you have a new Mustang....

    Play the SONG......not the DRUMS!!!

"I think that feeling is a lot more important than technique. It's all very well doing a triple paradiddle - but who's going to know you've done it? If you play technically you sound like everybody else. It's being original that counts." ~ John Bonham

Thanks Brian, although I doubt if I'm light years ahead of you. I think that you downplay your ability. My 'Stang is a '17, so it's not new anymore. I've had it since last May and it has only 1,300+ miles on it. It's a toy that likes to drink gas, but a fun ride.

I went to look at it. Saw it was 20 minutes long. Bailed out. Sorry.

Awesome playing Rick. Makes me want to post a cover or something on the forum.

Shave the beard, then go hug Cailyn and your daughter. The title had nothing to do with my day, which was just fine. I figured it would get attention.

sounded great, I would have played too fast and screwed up or ran out of ideas in the first 30 seconds.. I can not solo at all. It might be a confidence thing, or just not enough vocabulary.

Scott, you have more than enough skills to solo. It's just a matter of doing it. The ideas come. When I played gigs or just my videos, I never know what is going to come out. I stopped thinking about it after the 1st couple. (1961, 1st band, 1st solo).

I just air drum, Frosty comes down and fills in the actual drums. Very fast paws. I do have to get her a 6 pack and Doritos for doing it.

I need to work on stringing things together and not trying to come out at 100%... After years of metal playing I am so used to 16th or 32nd notes all the time It is VERY hard for me to play slow, and leave space.. I think that is where my confidence goes is with open space the mistakes are more noticeable. But if I come out flying I'll be too tired or have no where to go.. I may go try soloing today when I practice. Set a timer for even a minute and try and keep it musical and the tempo down. I can watch other people be creative at slow speeds and enjoy it. As soon as I try it I feel like it has to turn into blazing chops haha.

Get off the drums and get some hi-hat work in there. I almost always would slow it down, go to the hats and cymbals, then slowly back to the drums. The finish doesn't always have to be 120MPH.

You can play the drums or let the drums play you. Think about that for a while and you'll get what I mean.

Frosty will not touch the drumsticks to fill in my drumming until she gets her beer and Doritos
